La Creperie Still Has Its Charm.

I was thrilled that La Creperie (2845 N.Clark St, Chicago) reopened after closing last August, since that is where the hubs and I wanted to go for Valentine's Day. Our first Valentine's Day ever was at La Creperie five years ago.

Of course the French Onion Soup was the first thing we ordered. I still remembered it from the first time I tried it. You MUST get this if you get anything! The cheese that bubbles up over the soup is oh so good and it is very filling, too.

I then had a wonderful crepe with chicken, an herb cream sauce, and mushrooms that I barely was able to finish (thanks to the French Onion soup). They have a pretty lengthly list of savory and sweet options. I complemented my meal with a French Cider that was light and refreshing.

The ambience was nothing short of spectacular - very cutesy but very French (they love everything small, no?). On a cool and crisp snowy night, it was the perfect place to cozy up for Valentine's Day, or any other day really, especially in the evening.
