Commonly known as Sailor Jerry, Norman Collins is the father of old school tattooing and a former Chicago resident – he practiced on the drunks wandering State Street during the early 1920s.

You might not recognize his name, but next Tuesday we’re going to celebrate his birthday with free tattoos and Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum.

Celebrating what would-be his 103rdbirthday, the spiced rum brand is paying tribute with 103 free tattoos and a party at Emporium Arcade Bar (7pm-2am).

Offering a raucous evening without pretentious mixology or frilly cocktails, Sailor Jerry is partnering with Manbque to produce a mouthwatering menu that pairs well with a night of Sailor Jerry drink specials - but your first drink is on them.

When: January 14th from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m

Where: Emporium Arcade Bar (1366 N Milwaukee Ave.)

Why: Free tattoos*, drinks**, Manbque and an excuse to swear like a sailor!

*Tattoos are given out to the first 103 fans in line.

**Please remember to drink responsibly.
