Roadhouse 66: Down But Not Out
It’s not often that we read about a three alarm fire in Wrigleyville, but this weekend one of them took down Roadhouse 66 on Clark Street.
The fire started at the neighboring hookah shop and quickly escalated, claiming the Iowa bar just before we had a chance to celebrate its five year anniversary. Thankfully no one was injured but for now, the bar is out of commission.
The Local Tourist is a happy place for news and articles and thankfully there is a happy side to this story as well. The owners are following the spirit of Chicago and announced that they'll rebuild.
“Our bar may be gone, but the spirit of Roadhouse lives on. We WILL be back up and running before you know it!” – RH 66 website.
So as you visit your local bar this week, order a drink in honor of the Road House and toast the brave men and women of the Chicago Fire Department. Hopefully they join us in a few months for a drink at the new Roadhouse.
