South Loop Brewing, a small craft beer start-up from the South Loop, is releasing its first collaboration this week Wednesday (Dec. 4th) at DryHop Brewers in Lakeview.

Tapping the keg at 6pm, Milkstachio is a 6.0% Pistachio Milk Stout brewed with “unrefined cacoa nibs, lactose, and pistachio.” So what does that mean?

Expect a soft velvety texture with a smooth creamy chocolate finish. I’ve tried a number of collaborations from DryHop, including their collaboration with Intelligentsia, and the results are always worth trying.

Also on tap Wednesday night will be South Loop Brewing’s recent collaboration with Lake Effect Brewing, a rye whiskey barrel-aged version of Sailor’s Warning.
