WingIt Week is Back at Rockit in River North
Rockit Bar & Grill's annual WingIt Week is back in River North! For the rest of this week Rockit’s Executive Chef Amanda Downing is serving some of the best wings you’ll find in the city.
I’ve been to several WingIt Weeks and they’re a fun excuse to meet up with friends, throw back a beer and catch up over a unique take on wings. This year’s menu includes:
- Wednesday, Oct. 30 - Ancho Mole Turkey Wings (pictured above): cocoa-coffee rubbed turkey wings, ancho mole sauce, cilantro, queso fresco
- Thursday, Oct. 31 - Blackened “Bat” Wings: crispy charred chicken wings, ghost pepper sauce, chilled milk shot
- Friday, Nov. 1 - Manzano Pepper Wings: spicy grilled chicken wings, pineapple-papaya relish, manzano pepper butter
In the true spirit of Halloween, the Blackened "Bat" Wing will actually be exactly what its name implies – a black bat-shaped wing. But don't let the ghost pepper sauce scare you, I’ve tried a few ghost pepper sauce wings in the past (four is my record) and they aren’t too bad. That said, Rockit serves a chilled milk shot on the side so you can keep your cool.
