The job of a hair salon is to make you look good. You can get your locks shorn, shaped, and shined. You can get them colored or remove color; add curls or straighten those strands; get an updo or find the perfect style to wear it down. XEX Hair Gallery takes that job very seriously, but they do much more. They not only help you look good, they also help you do good.

XEX Hair Gallery was founded by David Perry and Gary Mattiazzi. The name comes from Feng Shui: 'X' means lucky and 'E' means good energy. They strive to create a feeling of good fortune and good energy with well educated and talented stylists who make it a point to listen to their clients. Consultations, whether you're getting a service or not, are free.

"We strive to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction, professionalism, and integrity. Education, a commitment to creativity, and individualism are at the center of our constant pursuit for excellence. XEX provides the best services day to day by meeting the demands of our customers and proving our ability to produce the highest quality work."

Located in the Leo Burnett building at 35 W. Wacker Dr., XEX Hair Gallery offers a wide variety of services. From haircuts to highlights, if you want to do something to your hair they have the experts to make it happen. Prices vary for each service and whether you work with a Stylist, Senior Stylist, or Lead Stylist, but one thing is the same for all: $1 is donated for every purchase or service to Feeding America. Each Wednesday they present a check, and over the last five years these donations have provided over 858,198 meals. Every time you visit XEX Hair Gallery you're providing eight meals to hungry Americans.

Of course, that isn't going to matter much if you're not happy with how you look when you leave the salon. David and Gary's careful selection of talent and their extensive training program ensure that each guest, whether it's one person getting her locs maintained or an entire bridal party, is pleased with the results. Browse through their Testimonials page and you'll see comments like these:

“I just moved to Chicago, and was nervous about finding a new hair stylist. I’ve only been natural for a year, and have kinky 4a type hair. John the “ethnic hair stylist” did an amazing job! There were no surprises about pricing, and customer service was great. John made my hair feel soft, healthy, and shiny. I love my hair, and will definitely be returning!” Rebba via Yelp!

“I have been going to XEX for 3 years now and I have never been happier with my hair.” - Lauren via Yelp!

“Ahhh! I love going here. I wish I could go here every week!” Ken via Yelp!

They're also the sole gallery in the United States that represents renowned Venetian Murano glass artist Darra, featuring colorful works of art created using a unique mosaic technique. Before, during, or after your appointment you can browse the gallery and find something perfect for your home or office.

In addition to providing information on their rates and services, XEX Hair Gallery's website features a blog with favorite looks, giveaways to local businesses, and tips for healthy hair. Visit their Facebook page or Twitter feed for daily offers, like $20 off a blowdry and makeup application or $10 off a haircut.

You can make an appointment at XEX Hair Gallery by visiting their website or calling 312-372-9211. Doing good while looking good - now that's beautiful!
