Two Chicago Farmers Markets Move Indoors for the Season
As October ends, so do the outdoor farmers markets. Fortunately a couple of Chicago's best move inside for the winter so you can still get your fresh produce, bread, cheese and meat straight from the producers.
The Logan Square Farmers Market will be moving into the building at 2755 N. Milwaukee Avenue. The buiding is a former bakery that's going to be demolished, but not until after March. This season they've also partnered with The Nosh, a weekly eating market that features small-batch, artisan prepared foods.
Green City Market also gets some warmer digs during the colder months. Its winter home is the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, located at Fullerton and Cannon. The market is every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until December 21, with the exception of November 30 and December 14. It will resume January 18 and then take place every other Saturday until April 19, 2014. There will also be chef demonstrations and you can check Green City Market's website to find out who you can see.
