Why Did The Submarine Cross The Road
To get to the Museum of Science & Industry! Fifty-nine years ago today a German u-boat left the shores of Lake Michigan on the south side of Chicago. It crossed Lake Shore Drive at a rate of just 57 feet an hour - kind of like a normal Friday afternoon. The occassion was nationally televised and the U-505 is one of the most popular exhibits today at the museum.
Thanks to the Museum of Science & Industry for posting the photo and sharing the story on Facebook!
