Musicians! There's Still Time to Submit for 2013 Chicago Festivals

MUSICIANS! Yes the deadline for some of Chicago's 2013 festivals are still open but you need to get on the ball NOW!

As you know each year the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) accepts submissions for consideration to our well-known festivals. These festivals include:

Chicago Blues Festival
Taste of Chicago - Bud Light Stage
Chicago Jazz Festival
World Music Festival Chicago
Cultural Center Presents

(*) needs 4-5 months from the date of your submission for a decision

Most of the deadlines have passed but there are some that require 4-5 months submission so besides trying out for the deadlines that are still open why not plan for next year as well? I've put links to those that are still open and you can click here to see information on all the festivals I've mentioned.

It's time to get out there and let yourself be seen. In my experience there are a lot of Chicagoans out there eager to support their local artist. Also if you're really into festivals be sure to check out Showfile, a music festival website for music lovers who want to keep track of the festivals they attend, friends who have attended and the bands they have seen. The app was designed by local web developers over at Rebels. Check out  this article I wrote about them a few months ago.
