I speak a lot about supporting our local artist and one way I do that is to write about them. In doing so I try to introduce you to artists who are in your own backyard, who are trying to succeed in doing what they love and, at times, have also made a decision to establish their business here in there own town; Chicago, Chicagoland, outlining suburbs...Illinois. Today I have an artist and business who you should meet.
Won't Go Quietly
is a story about a couple who are in their late twenties who are trying to decide what to do with their lives as they fall in and out of love. It started out as a short film and evolved into a major film project that Diaz has decided to make the film Solo Picture Studios first feature film. It is now in the stages of sourcing for funds through Indiegogo
and can use some of that local support. Indiegogo
is just one of the ways that beginning artist and production companies can get support for their projects. After putting as much of the funds he could gather to put together a short film, Diaz
and Solo Picture Studios
are now turning to those who will support this endeavor.
I commend Diaz
because it is rare nowadays for artist to pass up the temptation to go to major film or even music hub cities such as Los Angeles, New York or Tennessee and stick it out in a place like Chicago that has a creative community of it's own that I believe can rival any one of those cities I've just mentioned. So go over to Won't Go Quietly's Indiegogo page
and support if you can and be sure to like them on Facebook
to keep up to date with new info and events. You can also connect with them on their Youtube page
and Twitter (@jonny305diaz
) as well.
As always, good luck and The Local Tourist
and I will be keeping our eyes on you to let our readers know exactly what's happening in your world.
