The Divvy’s annual membership price is about to drop for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) members. Beginning August 1, BCBSIL members can sign up for an annual Divvy membership at the discounted rate of $65 per year.
Divvy’s annual membership is only normally $75, but the modest discount ($10) lowers the cost to less than $5.50 a month – or less than two tall lattes from Starbucks. The alternative to an annual membership is $7 for a 24-hour pass.
"Our sponsorship of Chicago's Divvy program is such a great way to promote health and wellness in our community and we want our members to experience Divvy for themselves," said Karen Atwood, president of BCBSIL.
"Our long-term partnership with Blue Cross is helping us expand the bike share system, improve and maintain bike lanes, and encourage more cycling in our neighborhoods," said Chicago Department of Transportation Commissioner Rebekah Scheinfeld.
In May, BCBSIL became the exclusive sponsor of the Divvy bike share system. BCBSIL members can sign-up for the discounted membership between August 1 and October 31 at Blue365deals.com/BCBSIL.
