Step back in time for a night of boxing, burlesque, and fashion with Schlitz, the Chicago Boxing Club, and The Inconvenience. This trio of athletes, artists, and brewers are coming together for a turn-of-the-century boxing event at the Logan Square Auditorium.
The Schiltz Bouts will pay homage to boxing’s golden age by showcasing amateur talent from Chicago Boxing Club mixed with entertainment such as The Fly Honey burlesque dancers, comedians, and musical acts from The Inconvenience.
“Schlitz has a storied connection to Chicago that spans over a century,” said John Genest, Brand Manager for Schlitz Brewing. Genest went on to say that the Schlitz Bouts an opportunity to celebrate the brand’s history with the Windy City.
Guests are encouraged to dress in 1920’s attire but don’t worry if your lounge suit or Saville Row smoking jacket is at the cleaners. The Chicago boutiques Apartment Number 9 and Edith Hart helped create the Schlitz Bouts Style Book and will be on hand with a variety of modern updates to 1920s style.
Specially-made menswear pieces designed for Schlitz will also be on hand, including period-inspired shoes from Oak Street Bootmakers and a signature watch from Astor + Banks.
