Red Bull Flying Bach Lands in Chicago

Wednesday, June 18, 2014 - 6:42pm

Red Bull is known for its awesome stunts, but in the music world, they’re some of the best curators in the industry. Using their music knowledge and experience creating unforgettable performances, this weekend is the U.S. debut of Red Bull Flying Bach.

Featuring Berlin-based dance crew The Flying Steps, four-time break dance world champions, Red Bull Flying Bach combines contemporary hip-hop power moves with live classical music.

Performed to Johann Sebastian Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier , the show features seven break dancers from The Flying Steps, along with contemporary Swedish dancer Anna Holmström, in a lively series of vignettes, each showing an array of breaking, popping & locking, flares, head spins, hand spins, footwork, and acrobatics.

If there was ever a time for you to visit the Civic Opera House, this is it!

Exclusive to the Windy City, Red Bull Flying Bach will perform six shows at the Civic Opera House this week and next, before moving on to another country.  So far it has sold out theaters in Austria, Australia, Canada, Chile, Germany, Iceland, Japan, Russia, and Sweden.
