The newest member of the Mercadito family is now open. Mercadito Fish Co. Seafood and Spirits is ready for business at 10 East Delaware in Chicago's Gold Coast.
Highlights from their menu include steamed black mussels with lime leaves, tarragon, and crushed tomato; red snapper carpaccio with mustard oil and seaweed slaw; and pan-roasted halibut with celery root and yukon potato puree and citrus nage. Meat lovers can dig into the hibachi-style Angus flank steak or the steak frites. If you've never seen a shellfish you didn't like, grab some friends and get the Gold Coast Platter. This bevy of bounty includes a full dozen oysters, half a dozen clams, shrimp cocktail, cracked half lobster, and some tuna crudo to smooth things out a bit. Entree prices range from $16.50 to $32.50, and that Gold Coast extravaganza is $99.
Their beer list is small but mighty, with several craft breweries represented. Wines by the glass are in the $12 - $14 range, as are their cocktails.
Mercadito Fish Co. is open seven days a week beginning at 6:30a.m.
