Next spring Chicago is hosting the James Beard Foundation Awards, but you don't have to wait until then to experience the culinary excellence that these awards represent.
"Taste America: Local Flavor from Coast to Coast" is a national tour hitting ten cities. Each city will host a Friday evening benefit dinner and on Saturday there will be culinary demonstrations at select Sur La Table stores. These demonstrations will be conducted by the best chefs from around the country, both Taste America All-Sars and James Beard Award-winning chefs. There will be cookbook signings, artisanal product samplings, and more.
The tour kicks off in Atlanta on September 12 and Chicago will be hosting October 17 and 18. The Windy City's benefit dinner will be hosted at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, a venue as extravagant and impressive as the meals are sure to be.
Straight from the press release:
A weekend-long tour, Chicago's Taste America will kick off at Trump Chicago with A Night of Culinary Stars, an exclusive dining event benefiting the James Beard Foundation. Afterwards, guests will be seated for an exceptional dinner prepared by Taste America All-Star Grant Achatz (Alinea), special guest chef Sean Brock (McCrady's, Husk), and Host Chef Thomas Lents (Sixteen), who will create a one-of-a-kind menu diners won't forget.
