International Beethoven Festival Opening Night – TLT EXCLUSIVE OFFER

The International Beethoven Festival: REVOLUTION 2012 is an eight day celebration of one of the world’s greatest composers and his ongoing legacy. It begins this Saturday with a Grand Opening Concert befitting the legend.

The evening begins with the specially commissioned World Premiere of “Forza Vita” Festival Overture, written by New York City’s award-winning David Winkler. This is followed by Grammy Award Winning violinist James Ehnes performing Beethoven’s beloved Violin Concerto in D Major, Opus 61. Zarin Mehta, President and Executive Director of the New York Philharmonic and former Executive Director of our own Ravinia Festival, will be honored at the event with the Beethoven Spirit Award. After intermission, the Beethoven Festival Orchestra will continue with Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, Opus 62 and his Second Symphony in D Major, Opus 36.
