Sleep? Who needs sleep? This is Chicago! Stay up all night long with The Second City That Never Sleeps on December 17. The famous and infamous improv company is hosting a 24-hour marathon of comedy and music to benefit Onward Neighborhood House. Fred Armisen, of Saturday Night Live and Portlandia, joins a cast of Second City performers and alumni who will keep you up laughing, and musicians like J. C. Brooks and the Uptown Sound, who will keep you up dancing. Veruca Salt, in their first performance in 15 years, and Jeff Tweedy will be joining the festivities virtually, as will Bush and St. Vincent.
There’s also a silent auction with items like two tickets to a Saturday Night Live taping and a private recording session.
Tickets are just $20 but you can’t get them in advance. They’re only going to be sold at the door, whic opens on December 17 at 5 p.m. If you can’t make it or it’s sold out you can watch it live at letterstosantachicago.com.
