A Taste of Chicago Gourmet

This weekend was the fourth annual Chicago Gourmet, and the event once again exhibited why Chicago is the culinary king. Our best restaurants and chefs offered tastings of their specialties and attendees sampled wines, spirits, and beers from all over the world.

While there were plenty of on-stage demonstrations and tasting pavilions, we chose to wander from tent to tent. Even though we were there for the full six hours on Saturday we still didn’t see – or taste – nearly everything. Some of our highights were the chilled mussel salad with mango pane cotta from Aria (pictured above), the cheesecake from Hearty, and the Elijah Craig 18. We even made a quick stop into the Grand Cru section where we sipped on the Justin Icosceles and Francis Ford Coppola’s Rubicon. Mmmmmm.
