September’s Chef’s Table brings us a taste of Italy in the heart of Lincoln Square. Due Lire was founded by owner Massimo Di Vuolo to fulfill a dream he had while growing up in Napoli. He watched his mother and grandmother cooking, “the slow and precise movements happening in front of my eyes, the surprising aromas, genuine laughs, love and passion that filled the kitchen was mesmerizing. Masterpieces were being created through such good times.”
At Due Lire he’s brought in Chef Kevin Abshire to help bring that dream to life. The two of them, Massimo and Kevin, share in the vision that a great restaurant is built on “fresh, simple food—a balance of ingredients, flavor and of course, friends, family and good times.”
On the menu for Chef’s Table, served family style (of course!):
- Frittelle Soffici: Crescenza Cheese Fritters/ Duck Ragu’/ Amarena Cherries Reduction
- Involtini Napoli: Grilled Eggplant/ Zucchini/ Smoked Mozzarella/ Tomato Sauce
- Ravioli Rustici: Short Ribs Filled Ravioli/ Porcini Mushroom/ Red Wine Demi/ Parmigiano
- Tiramisu’: Ladyfingers/ Espresso Flavored Mascarpone Cream
We’ll be enjoying this amazing menu on their brand new patio (weather permitting) with red, white, and sparkling wines. Multo bene!
