Alpana Singh, Master Sommelier, host of Check, Please!, and author, is now a restaurateur. The youngest woman ever to acheive the rank of Master Sommelier is opening a wine-driven restaurant in Chicago’s bustling River North neighborhood. The Boarding House has been highly anticipated and now the wait will soon be over.
Tomorrow you can get a first glimpse by checking out the first floor bar and the subterranean cellar. Sip from her selection of 20 wines by the glass as well as craft cocktails and beers, and nosh on Chef Christian Gosselin’s wine bar-inspired offerings. Then on December 20 the dining room opens and with it the full 450 bottle list that the wine-genue carefully selected.
Of note: bar stools are made from old wine barrels, the chandelier in the bar is comprised of 9,063 wine glasses, and once the dining room opens you’ll be seated beneath 5,800 wine bottles!
Reservations for December 20 and beyond are available now for the dining room, and are already filling up quickly.
