It’s hard to believe that about a year and a half ago I hosted my first AlphaBeer. Next Saturday is the fifth iteration of this event that invites guests to sample a craft beer for every letter of the alphabet. That’s right – 26 letters, 26 beers. If you enjoy beer, or even if you’re just exploring, this is the most fun you can have tasting and learning!
Each event is led by an expert, and this time I’m proud to say Christopher Tourre will be walking us through the world of hops and barleys. He’s co-founder, with Threadess’ Lance Curran, of Arcade Brewery, which will be operational this fall.
Here’s what we’ll be tasting (warning: you might start drooling):
- Allagash White
- Bell’s Two Hearted
- Cerise (Founder’s)
- Dark Horse Amber
- Ebulum Black
- Fat Tire (New Belgium)
- Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold
- Half Acre Daisy Cutter
- Iron Horse Efes Pilsner
- Jever Pils
- Krusovice Ceme Dark
- Lagunitas IPA
- Metropolitan Krankshaft
- Newcastle
- O’Fallon Wheach
- Pyramid HefeWeis
- Quelque Chose
- Rogue Dead Guy Ale
- Southern Tier Trippel
- Two Brothers Domain Dupaige
- Unibroue La Fin Du Monde
- Victoria
- Weihenstephaner Hefe Weizen
- XX Lager
- Young’s Double Chocolate Stout
- Zephyr (Lagunitas)
Tickets are only $40, and a table of six is just $200 (one free ticket). Get your seats now because the price goes up $10 at the door and these events have been known to sell out.
You can also check out a video from AlphaBeer IV below (by the awesome Peter Dolan of Media Beyond) and see what all the fuss is about.
