April Ends Sweetly with Around-the-World Truffles Preview Party

Katherine Duncan has a thing about creating new truffle flavors. Not content to offer just your standard Champagne, chocolate, pecan, cheesecake, etc., the “confectionista” creates 175 flavors each year. Her upcoming May collection may be one of the most ambitious yet, featuring flavors from around the world.

You can get a taste of what’s to come at tonight’s preview party. Katherine Anne Confections is hosting a sampling of truffles, caramels, and marshmallows inspired by international cuisine. The flavors of Thailand are represented in the Kaffir lime, ginger, and tamarind truffle. India is alluded to with the carrot, walnut, and tarragon caramel.

Tickets to the preview party are $30 and include drinks and savory bites as well as the following decadent sweets:

TRUFFLES

  • Kaffir Lime + Ginger + Tamarind: bittersweet chocolate, kaffir lime leaves, fresh ginger, tamarind
  • Lauren’s Birthday Truffle: as of yet, undecided, though it will most definitely be delicious
  • Curried Coconut (v): bittersweet chocolate, coconut milk, curry powder from Curry’s
  • Cassis Rosemary: semisweet chocolate with cassis and fresh infused rosemary
  • Cherry + Black Pepper + Balsamic: white chocolate, market cherries, black pepper and 18-year aged balsamic
  • Gin + Tart Apple + Lemon: white chocolate, Death’s Door gin, green apple, tart lemon
  • Mole: bittersweet & milk chocolate, almonds, sesame seeds, chilies, cinnamon, pepitas, raisins and much more
  • Peanut Butter Coconut Curry: milk chocolate, peanut butter, coconut & coconut milk, curry powder

CARAMELS

  • Pineapple Coconut: caramel with coconut milk, roasted pineapple and toasted coconut
  • Fruit + Sauv Blanc: Sauvignon Blanc caramel with market fruit
  • Dill Yogurt: classic caramel with a dollop of Greek yogurt and fresh dill
  • Orange Candied Coriander: caramel candied coriander and a touch of orange
  • Carrot + Walnut + Tarragon: carrot caramel with toasted walnuts and fresh tarragon
  • Rhubarb Orange: classic caramel, market rhubarb reduction and orange zest

MARSHMALLOWS

  • Grapefruit Mint: grapefruit marshmallow with fresh mint
  • Lady Grey: pillowy earl grey tea marshmallow with lavender
