Art, Magic, & Music for Haiti

Michael Teach of Chicago Acoustic Underground is one of the most generous people I know. He gives of his time, his energy, his heart, and his money to many people and causes. Tomorrow he’s turning all of that towards the people of Haiti, and he’s got a lot of help – help in the form of musicians, a magician, and artists, one of whom is Haitian.

The event begins at 8pm with a reception. There will be appetizers from J&L Catering and magic by A J Sacco. Haitian artist Fritz Millevoix and Chicago’s Nicole Smith will have their work on display throughout the evening. Three CAU alumn will perform. Groundkeepers was Teach’s first guest on the podcast which features acoustic musicians. The Giving Tree Band is a rollicking good time bluegrass band. I’ve seen them twice at the Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival (pictured) and they are F-U-N! Phil Circle, who rounds out the talent, is a singer/songwriter who defies the stereotype with his blues, rock, and jazz influenced sound.

All of this talent is offered for only $10, and 100% of the net proceeds go to the American Red Cross Haitian Relief Fund.
