Celebrate Spring with a Rooftop Soiree featuring Chef Art Smith, Lin Brehmer, and Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues

Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and patios and rooftops are opening all over the city. Spring is finally here in Chicago! What better way to celebrate than with a Spring Rooftop Soiree featuring live entertainment, fantastic food, and flowing libations, especially when it’s all to help kids.

On Monday, May 11 III Forks, 180 N Field Blvd, is opening their magnificent (heated!) rooftop for an evening benefitting Common Threads. Hosted by WXRT’s Lin Brehmer and Chef Art Smith, there will be cocktails, wine, and beer accompanied by passed hors d’oeuvres. There will even be tastings of Hennessy 250 Collector Blend Cognac. III Fork’s Executive Chef Billy Caruso has created a collection of bites that are perfect for a spring evening:

  • Beef Tartare, sherry egg yolk vinaigrette, house made potato chip
  • Wild Rice and Short Rib Arancini, marinara
  • Ahi Tuna, citrus ponzu, avocado cream, lavash chip
  • Tomato Confit, burrata, basil oil
  • Fluke crudo, Meyer lemon, toasted almonds, micro Swiss chard
  • Watermelon, feta, aged balsamic, basil

In addition to great dining and drinking there will also be lively music. Local blues legend, and three-time Grammy nominee, Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues will keep you on your feet for a 90-minute set. While you’re up, be sure to check out the silent auction, which benefits Common Threads. Founded by Chef Smith, the nonprofit teaches kids in underserved schools and communities all about eating healthy and eating well with culturally-relevant cooking programs and a nutrition curriculum.

Tickets are just $75, and $50 of the ticket price goes directly to Common Threads. Get your tickets today for an evening guaranteed to put some “Spring” in your step.
