Show your mom how great she is by taking her to see the movie that epitomized bad moms for a generation (or two). Music Box Theatre is celebrating moms with a screening of that cult classic, Mommie Dearest.
Just like those big floppy hats, “Joan-a-Palooza” is also over the top. The theater will be filled with puffy-sleeved dresses for the pre-show mother-daughter matching outfit contest. Dick O’Day will begin the festivities, and Camp Midnight will offer commentary throughout the film (think Mystery Science Theater 3000 with ribbons and bows). And you might want to get there early: the first 100 guests get their own commemmorative wire hanger.
To make sure you’re properly nourished before the show Mystic Celt is offering an unlimited brunch from 11:30am to 1:30pm. $30 includes the buffet and unlimited coffee, soda, and most importantly, mimosas. Tax and gratuity is even included.
