Chicago is the Best Food City in America and Gibson's Steakhouse has the Best Steak in the Country

File this under “tell us something we don’t know”: Chicago is the best food city in America.

Tablespoon.com and Andrew Zimmeman invited people all over the country to vote for their favorite restaurants, food personalities, food shows, and food cities. The Munchies, considered the People’s Choice Food Awards, are awarded based on popular vote to “Terrific Tastemakers, Best Bites and Delicious Destinations”. Chicago beat out Los Angeles, Portland, New York City, and San Francisco to be named the Best Food City. We’ve now won two out of the three years this award has been available.

Second City? Not where food is concerned.

Part of what makes this a great food city is its selection of great steakhouses. Gibson’s Steakhouse (1028 N Rush St, Chicago, IL), is celebrating 25 years and is synonymous with steak and now it’s official. The Gold Coast restaurant was named the Best Steakhouse in the country.
