Chicago Kids and Kites Festival

Go fly a kite!

No, really – go fly a kite. The Chicago Kids and Kites Festival takes place every year at the beginning of May.

You don’t even need to bring your own – kite kits will be provided (while supplies last) for children to build, decorate and fly. There will also be face painting, balloon artists and crafts.

Chicago Kite will be onsite for kite buyers, and professional kite flyers will demonstrate their skills with oversized and uniquely-shaped kites.

Kids and Kites festival runs from 10am to 4pm on Cricket Hill, near the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Montrose Ave.

This event is weather-dependent, so call 3-1-1 if the skies look iffy the day of the event.
