For many Chicagoans and tourists Michigan Avenue’s Apple Store is a destination unto itself. The store, the genius bar, the theater all symbolize artistic innovation and knowledge with grace. As the co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs was the father of a technological revolution and the genius that turned computers into tools that everyone could use. Being a “geek” has become cool, and i-everything is now a standard part of our vernacular.
His passing yesterday from pancreatic cancer is, and should be, mourned by millions. You changed the world, Mr. Jobs, and for that we thank you.
