Cirque Dreams Holidaze Amazes Onlookers at The Chicago Theatre

Oohs and aahs and lots of applause filled the air last night at The Chicago Theatre for the debut performance of Cirque Dreams Holidaze

This holiday stage spectacular, presented by Jam Theatricals, makes the Windy City home for several amazing performances now until December 16 at The Chicago Theatre.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze is the brainchild of Broadway Director and Cirque Productions Founder Neil Goldberg who has worked incredibly hard to find top-notch talent to wow his crowds… and that he did.

Your eyes will behold 20 incredible acts from around the world with spiraling aerialists from Ecuador, skating sensations from Italy, bauble jugglers from Ethiopia and more. There are over 300 costumes and new holiday scenes that delight your senses with an awestruck explosion of colorfully designed props, inflatables and backdrops worth millions of dollars.

Your ears will be audibly enchanted by singers and holiday tunes throughout the concert, including a fun audience participation bell ringing song by Maestro Belozertsev from Russia.

Overall the production was amazing, The performers were solid and kept you on the edge of your seat. The one act that got my heart pounding was the balancing act dressed as a penguin. The performance by the fashionistas (quick-change wardrobe artists) was mind-boggling and there was something new and fun happening one after another.

Some minor improvements, the audio on some of the singers could have been louder and during certain scenes, the ensemble would hold and twirl these fabric Christmas trees and their synchronization could have been more in sync.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze is priced from $25 to $125 and will feature performances at the Chicago Theatre, 175 North State Street, from now through December 16. The performance schedule is December 12, 13, 14 at 7:30 p.m.; December 15 at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and December 16 at 1 and 5 p.m. Tickets are available at The Chicago Theatre box office, all Ticketmaster locations, ticketmaster.com or via phone at 1-800-745-3000. Group discounts for 10 or more are available by calling Grouptix at 773-327-3778.
