CTA Update

Well, we get another two month reprieve from the threatened service reductions and fare hikes. It’s beginning to feel like they’re crying wolf, so I never really doubted it would come through. All this up and down is giving me a headache, and I don’t even use the CTA that often. I can imagine how the million people who rely on it daily to get to work and school must feel.

The frustration level is so high that some think it should be allowed to shut down so the legislators can stop their bickering and get it straightened out. Thomas Marcucci, Mayor of Elmhurst, was actually quoted in the Tribune as saying “Maybe we have to have blood on the streets to get this done.” That’s a bit extreme, but it doesn’t seem that this will be resolved until our legislators stop their bickering and find a solution.
