Duranies who are still suffering severe dissapointment over the abrupt cancellation of Duran Duran‘s concert at Ravinia last summer are in for a special treat. Still no word on a future Duran Duran concert in Chicago, however the members of the band are not shy about their adoration of our town and seem to coming back one by one. Bassist John Taylor did a book reading of his autobiography “In The Pleasure Groove” at City Winery last October. Now drummer Roger Taylor has made plans to celebrate his birthday in Chicago this month.
Roger Taylor‘s birthday party is at Spy Bar Chicago beginning at 10pm Thursday, April 25 and will rock into the wee hours of the morning (his birthday) Friday, April 26. The legendary drummer of Duran Duran will be spinning tunes, bringing his signature club party “Do It In Heels”. So grab your stilettos and get your tickets soon. They will go fast since only 300 are available.
I had the chance to talk to Roger Taylor and Simon Le Bon when they were in town for a concert in 2011. Clearly they are fun guys and Roger’s birthday party will certainly be a blast!
