Yesterday I shared bars in Wrigleyville with no cover during the World Series. Today? Bars NOT in Wrigleyville with no cover during the World Series. Not only are they not charging a cover, these bars are business-as-usual, which means that they’re Cubs fans and they’re welcoming Cubs fans. We’ve also got a couple of breweries that are adding TV’s specifically for this historic weekend.
There’s a reason we’ve hosted the last four AlphaBeer events at this bar. They know their beer, and their staff is great. How great? They can serve a beer for every letter of the alphabet in about 2 1/2 hours to a room full of thirsty fans. They’ll definitely be able to handle a bar full of thirsty Cubs fans this weekend. I’m just guessing here, but I’m going to bet watching the World Series at Beer Bistro is going to be like hanging out with your best friends to watch the game, if all of your best friends are awesome Cubs fans and have great taste in beer. Get close(r) to the action at this Boys Town bar. They’ve got twenty screens showing the game and they’ve got a retractable roof, which you better believe will be open if the weather cooperates! Watch the games on the Roof Deck (Friday and Sunday) or in the Music Joint (Saturday) at this South Loop bastion of cool. They’re also serving their regular specials, which include Deschutes drafts on Saturday and all-you-can-eat Sloppy Joe’s for $5 on Sunday. When I first moved to Chicago I worked at Kinzie Chophouse, which is right next door to this shotgun bar. I spent many an hour there, getting to know Kelly, Aileen, Abraham, and the rest. Not only are they not charging a cover, they’re also offering $2 tacos and $3 cans of Bud and Bud Light during the game. You can also cheer on the team with $5 Cubbie Blue margaritas. You’ve got a choice of two locations: one in River North, at 158 W Ontario, and one in Lincoln Park, at 1969 N Halsted. Yay tacos!
This subterranean bar is a refuge for all-things sports, so it makes sense that they’d have a World Series Watch Party. No cover, drink specials, and IRISH NACHOS (I seriously love their Irish nachos).
