Free Blues Traveler Concert at Harry Caray's Navy Pier

If Blues Traveler‘s “four” had been a cassette tape I would have worn the reels off of it. Fortunately I had it, and still do, on CD so I can play it over and over if I want.

I’ll be doing that a lot over the next month. The band is performing a free concert at Harry Caray’s Tavern on Navy Pier on September 27. They’ll be on the patio playing their classics as well as songs from the recently released “Suzie Cracks the Whip”.

To get free admission, show up at the restaurant at 11am on September 27 when they begin handing out free tickets. If you want guaranteed admission they’ve got a few packages:

Dinner Package, $35

Includes seating on the patio throughout the concert and a three-course blues-themed dinner (drinks, tip, & tax extra). Since seating is behind the General Admission area your view won’t be great, but your feet won’t be tired!

Silver Package, $40

This gets you a general admission ticket with early entry so you can get the best spot, PLUS an open bar!

Gold VIP Package, $75

Spring for this one and you get to be right in front of the stage, plus hors d’oeuvres and an open bar.

Harry Caray’s hosted a free concert last year and I was fortunate enough to be invited to the VIP section. If you can swing it, it’s worth it! Check out my pictures of the Gin Blossoms and Malea McGuinness.
