The Lyric Opera of Chicago is one of the city’s cultural gems, drawing talent and audiences from around the world. On September 8 it will present Stars of Lyric Opera at Millennium Park, its annual “gift to the city”. At this free concert they’ll be showcasing previews of the upcoming season, including the complete Act One of “La Traviata”. This will feature the Lyric Opera Chorus, returning to the stage of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion for the first time since 2007.
The annual concert attracts over 11,000 people, so be sure to get there early. For those who can’t or don’t want to attend in person, the evening will be simulcast on WFMT 98.7FM and wfmt.com.
