Hit a Home Run With Fannie May on Sweetest Day

Saturday is Sweetest Day, and this year it’s sweeter than ever as the Chicago Cubs take on the Dodgers at Wrigley Field. Whether you’re into this epic baseball season or not (and if you’re not, it’s probably best not to let anybody know), you probably are into your sweetest, and what better way to show it than with a box of truffles.

Fannie May, the official chocolate of the Chicago Cubs, is a hometown favorite. Chicago’s the candy capital of America, and while Fannie May may not have started the game, they’ve been in it for nearly a century. Since 1920 this purveyor of pixies has been making Chicago, and the world, a sweeter place.

They’ve got a lot of stuff in the works right now, and one of them is a new line of gourmet truffles. With flavors like Dark Chocolate Salted Peanut Butter, Madagascar Vanilla, and Milk Chocolate Amaretto they make it easy for you to knock it out of the park, especially when the box is wrapped beautifully in a satin bow. They also come with a handy-dandy “map” so you can tell which is which. Unlike Forrest, I like to know which chocolate I’m going to get!

Prices range from $29.95 for an assortment of 16 to $59.95 for 34. You can find them at any Fannie May location or you can order them online. TLTip: Most stores have extended hours on Sweetest Day.

Fannie May sent me a box of truffles to sample so I could make sure they’re worthy of your sweetest. All opinions are mine and weren’t influenced at all by the resulting sugar coma. (They didn’t tell me I didn’t need to eat ALL of them!)
