VIP access is sweet. Shorter lines, better views, awesome food and drink – what’s not to love? Hilton knows this, and their Hilton@Play program proves it.
The hotel chain, which operates the Palmer House, theWit, and The Drake Hotels in Chicago as well as several other properties (77 in all!), thinks that all work and no play makes for a very dull summer. To fix that they’re giving their HHonors members a fun, new way to use their points. In addition to cashing them in for hotel stays and rental cars you can now trade those points for concerts, sporting events, dining, and more.
Their most recent Hilton@Play concert in Chicago was an intimate performance by Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Andy Grammer (“Honey, I’m Good”) and the lead singer of Indie Pop Band Echosmith, Sydney Sierota. Before the concert attendees were treated to beer, wine, signature cocktails, a massive cheese and charcuterie spread, lobster mac & cheese, potstickers, and kobe beef sliders.

Buttery lobster. Cheesy mac. OMG.
After the reception we entered the ballroom / concert hall. There wasn’t a bad sightline in the place, the sound was great, and the crowd, filled with kids and families and couples and friends was happy. Seriously happy.
Even if it weren’t for the free-flowing food and drink, which certainly didn’t hurt, this would have been a great concert experience. Both Sydney Seriota and Andy Grammer were just so darn happy to be there. In their separate sets each seemed genuinely thrilled and excited, encouraging the crowd to sing to the songs they knew and get into the ones they didn’t. Grammer and his band were grinning and their enthusiasm was infectious. You couldn’t help but dance along with their odd yet insanely fun blend of pop, country, and R&B. Their synchronized dance moves a la The Temptations had me literally laughing out loud.
How could you not be happy?

Hilton@Play has concerts and events all over the world. You can see One Direction in Milwaukee or U2 in Berlin, watch the AVP Beach Volleyball tournament in Manhattan Beach, CA, or get a McClaren – Honda VIP race package experience in Austin or Mexico City. To get these you’ll need anywhere from 60,000 to 360,000+ points. You can get these the old fashioned way by staying in hotels. You can also earn them from using specific credit cards and working with their partners. Or you can flat out buy them. For more information visit hhonors.com/auctions.
The Andy Grammer / Sydney Sierota concert took place at Palmer House Hilton, 71 E Monroe St, Chicago, IL. I was invited to attend to experience Hilton@Play and check some things off my Chicago Summer Bucket List – more on that later!
