Thanks to the fine folks at Goose Island, you can have green beer without turning green yourself or faking an Irish accent and hopping around like a leprechaun. The local brewery has unveiled Green Line Pale Ale.
While the name is significant to Chicago, it comes from more than just a branch of the CTA. It’s actually meant to be an environmentally-friendly brew, with locally sourced ingredients (with the exception of hops, which aren’t grown anywhere near here). No shipping means it’s not only got a smaller carbon footprint, it also means it’s for us lucky locals solely. They’re tapping the keg today at both Goose Island locations and Uncommon Ground and at Big Star and Hopleaf in a few days.
