Celebrating its one year anniversary this month, Taste of Thai Town is still bringing the best of Thai Town to Chi Town.
This Albany Park location, a former police station, serves up delectable Thai dishes created by acclaimed chef, Arun Sampanthavivat. Taste of Thai Town offers casual Thai dining, in contrast to the award-winning more upscale sister location, Arun's located at 4156 N. Kedzie Ave. It is the perfect spot to bring a date, a business meeting or family as there is something for everyone on the menu.
We began our multi-course meal with a perfect pinot grigio wine, followed by a delectable bite of a chicken stir fry wrapped in a crunchy shell. This item was not on the regular menu. This was followed by a scrumptious curry fish cake which had just the perfect amount of spiciness.
Our main dishes included the best Pad Thai I have ever had – scrumptious thin noodles and a savory sweet sauce wrapped in a paper thin layer of egg. I will definitely be back for more of this! We also enjoyed some Po-Tak soup, which was an assortment of seafood, chilies, lemongrass, mushroom, onion, tomatoes and lime juice.
An anniversary festival is to be held at its location on July 8 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be food tastings, drinks, BBQ, and karaoke as indicated on their facebook page. Stop on by and celebrate with them.
