Joffrey Ballet holds open auditions for The Nutcracker

The Joffrey Ballet will present its production of The Nutcracker this holiday season, the 27th year in this holiday tradition. This wonderful production includes numerous children in the cast and all students with dance experience are encouraged to audition. Auditions will be held Saturday September 14th at the Joffrey Tower located at 10 E. Randolph Street. The Joffrey Ballet seeks children who are between 4’ and 5’ tall, and between the ages of 9 and 14.

Here are all the details if your child is interested in auditioning. You’ll need to provide a headshot or photo up to 4”x6” and the audition form (available online here) on the day of the audition. The schedule for the audition is based on age.  Be prepared to stay until 4pm.

Ages 9-10:  Registration 1:15 – 2:15 pm, Audition 2:15 – 4:00 pm

Ages 11-14:  Registration 10:30 – 11:30 am, Audition 11:30 – 1:30 pm

Dancers must be available to attend rehearsals beginning September 28, and running through October, November and December. There will be 23 performances from December 5th to the 28th at the Auditorium Theatre (no performance December 25).
