Review of Burger Joint Chicago

We are a country that loves burgers. In fact, the average American eats 3 burgers on average each week! So if we are gonna eat ‘em then they might as well be good, right? In fact, with so many burger places popping up these days it’s almost a shame to go through a drive thru. Don’t get me wrong, I have picked up sliders from a late night drive plenty, simply because there was no better option. Yup, and at 2am those burgers tasted pretty good. Then you go back at 2pm and they kinda suck don’t they? Kinda like beer goggles but with food.

Alas late night food doesn’t need to suck. Burger Joint Chicago is a place where you won’t be ashamed of being no matter what time of day you go! I stopped in at the reasonable hour of 7pm to make sure my taste buds were at their best. First thing is that the burgers are served on brioche buns which is a step in the right direction right away, nothing bugs me more than a garbage bun! First burger I sampled was the Crazy Greek, a ½ lb burger topped with American cheese and gyro meat. This healthy burger (kidding) is actually pretty good but is made better if you add the cucumber sauce. Next burger up is the hangover! Top that same patty with American cheese, bacon, a fried egg, and tomato and you got good alcohol absorbtion food!

Non burger wise I tried the chicken on a pita which had well seasoned cubes of chicken, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a soft pita. Simple but pretty tasty at the same time. My favorite thing about this place was the fries. Blue Cheese fries feature fresh cut fries topped with real blue cheese crumbles! Eventually they kind a melt but you still get some nice blue cheese bits in every bite. The star was the spicy feta fries! Feta cheese on anything is pretty good but throw on some giardinara and these fries rock! Desserts are covered by decent milk shakes that are a bit thin but my strawberry one did have real strawberries blended in.

Overall Burger Joint Chicago offers pretty good burgers, damn good fries, and weekend hours until 5am. Whether for lunch or especially for late night munchies after a night on the town Burger Joint is worth dropping in for. Rating *** (good) out of *****.
