DryHop’s Newest Beer Will Support the Lincoln Park Zoo

Good news for beer drinkers: having a beer at DryHop in Lakeview will help feed the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Red Panda, Tarrie.

and  are collaborating on the release of a new beer, “I’m Not a Raccoon,” which is inspired by Red Panda’s diet of mulberry leaves and bamboo.

For each pint sold, DryHop will donate a dollar to the Red Panda Wish List Fund to help cover the $4,500 worth of bamboo needed yearly to feed Tarrie.

According to the Zoo, the  is vulnerable in its native range due to habitat loss and poaching. 

“The mulberry and bamboo impart flavor and aroma, much like steeping tea leaves. The brew is rounded out with tangerine and citrus notes from the use of Mandarina hops and lemongrass in the brewing process,” said DryHop Brewers Head Brewer Brant Dubovick.

Beer and animal lovers are invited to the DryHop on Wednesday, May 7 (6pm) for the first pour of “I’m Not a Raccoon,” a 6.0% Red Saison.

Lincoln Park Zoo invited DryHop to pour this special collaboration in the VIP Lounge at  , the Auxiliary Board of Lincoln Park Zoo’s signature fundraiser on Saturday, May 17. A pair of two (2) complimentary VIP tickets to Zoo-ologie, will be given out at the beer launch.
