Chicago Gospel Music Festival 2017 Lineup

The returns for its 32nd year this summer. Taking place on June 2 and 3, this year's festival headliners include The Rance Allen Group, Jonathan McReynolds with special guests Anthony Brown & Travis Greene, Vashawn Mitchell, and many more.

The festival opens on Friday at the Chicago Cultural Center with performances from noon until 4pm. That evening the music moves to Millennium Park, with openers Glenn Johnson & The Voices of Innerpeace followed by University of Illinois Black Chorus. At 6:40 Malcolm Williams & Great Faith will take the stage, then a Celebration of Gospel Music Quartets with Evelyn Turrentine-Agee and The Warriors, God’s Posse, The Gospel Crusaders and The Stars of Heaven  at 7:30pm. The evening will be headlined by Jonathan McReynolds with special guests Anthony Brown and Travis Greene.

Saturday opens earlier with VaShawn Mitchell at 4:30pm. Following his 2016 project, Secret Place, which was recorded in South Africa, Mitchell will bring his universal sound to the festival stage. The Rance Allen Group performs at 6:15 p.m. Next up with a tribute to Jessy Dixon, who passed away in 2011, followed by a guest TBA sometime in May.
