The Ravenswood Corridor opens its doors for their annual ArtWalk every October. On December 6, The Ravenswood Community Council invites Chicagoans to further explore the neighborhood during the Ravenswood Holiday Walk. From 12:00pm - 5:00pm, several Ravenswood businesses will offer special discounts, freebies and activities.
Beans & Bagels, Celtica Gifts, Eats & Sweets and Margie’s Candy will offer complimentary hot beverages and treats while you shop along Montrose Avenue. Stop in Ravenswood Fitness Center for a free workout (check their schedule for December 6 times), Ravenswood Used Books for a live performance by Nino Arobelidze and Neighborly, where kids can write a letter to Santa.
Discounts will be plentiful over on Damen Avenue, including 12% off “12 Days of Xmas Stocking Stuffers” at Dolce Casa Cafe, 20% off sunglasses at Eye See Ravenswood, 10% off all purchases at 4 Legs Pet Products and 25% off select items at Turin Bicycle.
Ravenswood Avenue gets in on the holiday festivities with Jennifer Merchant’s Jewelry Trunk Show at Lillstreet Art Center, where shoppers can also get a 5% discount in the Gallery Shop. Walk a few doors down to Urban Pooch for holiday specials and have a caricature artist create a dog portrait for the pet lover in your life. Don’t forget to stop by Savvy Seconds on Lawrence for 20% off all clothing items.
In addition to scoring good deals on holiday gifts, Santa will make his rounds to various locations throughout the Holiday Walk, as will The Amundsen High School Choir, who will put on several performances. Check the Ravenswood Holiday Walk for times and locations.
Not only will shoppers be able to finish off their Christmas lists with unique gifts from local businesses, but they also have the opportunity to give back. Shops with a donation location icon will be able to direct shoppers to canned-food and clothing collection boxes around the area. Donations will be accepted until December 31 to benefit Ravenswood Community Services and the Lincoln Square Friendship Center.
