Arrivals: Miku Sushi

Sashimi Matsu from Miku Sushi
Wednesday, February 18, 2015 - 5:10pm

There's a new sushi spot in Lincoln Square. Miku Sushi fills the former Tank and Laughing Bird location. Proving that you can go home again, Miku is owned by a couple that met while working at Tank, which had pleased sushi lovers for eleven years before being reconcepted as Laughing Bird.

This is the third restaurant for husband-and-wife team Stanley Liem and Nuchsara “Sara” Katekaew. Stanley left Tank in 2011 to open Inari Sushi, and Sara left the restaurant two years later to help open Sala Bua and to give birth to their son.

Miku, which means "lasting beauty", features more than your standard maki and sashimi. The restaurant also offers ramen, seared duck breast with Asian pear sauce, spicy tuna ravioli, and grilled alligator mini-skewers.

"If John Steinbeck earned a Nobel Prize in Literature shortly after publishing Travels with Charley, then Theresa should start planning a trip to Oslo, Norway, because Two Lane Gems is every bit the book Travels with Charley was. And then some." ~Amazon review
