With the Golden Globes this past week, I am prompted to admit that I am a huge fan of the post-party coverage that is on every channel the following morning. With that in mind, I thought about covering tomorrow's "Winter Wine Grand Tasting" the morning after I attend, but that wouldn't be quite fair. After all, that would not allow for you to grab a pal and go for yourselves!  While I can’t promise that you’ll see Brad Pitt, you will have the opportunity to rub elbows with Alpana Singh, Master Sommelier and host of “Check Please.” She will be signing copies of her new book, "Alpana Pours". If you weren’t as lucky as I was to receive a copy for Christmas (thanks mom), then purchase the $60 ticket that includes the book.

Aside from the obvious inclusion of 50 plus wines to taste, there will also be delicious appetizers and dessert nibbly bits to pair (absorb).  This year, the annual “Winter Wine Grand Tasting” will take place at recently opened Dine restaurant. Word on the street is that in-house chef Chris Turano will be serving up goodies such as: Short Rib Bouche with Horseradish Cheddar and Shrooms, Smoked Salmon with Chive Creme Fraiche on Black Bread, Stuffed Fingerling Potato with Mushroom, Goat Cheese and Bacon and the ever popular party favorite, Spinach Quiche. To appropriately pair that dessert wine you will be sipping, Executive Pasty Chef Kate Milashus will offer several desserts.

The best part is that this one event opens up the door for multiple experiences:
* Join the Windy City Wine Club
* Read a book
* Check out a hot new restaurant
* Get a little wine 101
* Eat like it is still the Holiday season
