From September 12 through September 22 you can enjoy the music of the world for free. The 15th Annual World Music Festival Chicago takes place all over the city for eleven days.
The festival opens on Thursday with the Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra with Plena Libre and AfriCaribe. This free concert takes place at the stunning Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. If you prefer to move to the music, head to the Spirit of Music Garden on the south end of Grant Park. You can learn how to dance to the music of the African Showboyz.
Featured performances over the wekeend include the Festival au Desert - Caravan for Peace at Mayne Stage on Chicago's north side. You can also see RagaMala: A Celebration of Indian Classical Music with performances at the Chicago Cultural Center and the Jay Pritzker Pavilion.
