Nickel and Dime your Tea Time at The Langham Chicago
When The Langham Hotel opened in England it offered tea service for 1 shilling and 6 pence, or fifteen cents. After 149 years prices have gone up considerably, but for one day only you can get those mid-19th century rates in Chicago.
Tea at The Langham is a special affair that takes place in their Pavilion, a second floor dining space featuring fantastic views. Known as Tiffin, this traditional tea is the same that debuted in London in 1865, with proprietary Langham teas, Champagne, and an array of sweet and savory bites.
With only forty available spots on Tuesday, June 10, reservations will go quickly. To keep it interesting The Langham will be announcing when they’re accepting calls via social media. Follow them on Thursday, June 5, on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram between 10am and 10pm to find out when the phone lines are open. They’ll also provide the phone number at that time. At $0.15 you can bet this tea time will disappear in no time, so follow The Langham and make your reservations straightaway*.
*Thanks to my favorite Anglophile, Zack Finer, for the Brit slang for quickly!
