This Black Friday you’ll want to head to the Magnificent Mile. Not for the malls; not for the shopping; no – you’re going into the shopping mecca of the Midwest for beer.
Each winter beer fans wait (im)patiently for the release of Goose Island’s Bourbon County Brand Stout (BCBS). The rich, dark, viscous beverage has created legions of fans who line up like Apple just released a new iPhone. This year the queue will start at the corner of Fairbanks and Ontario for Timothy O’Toole’s official on-premise BCBS brew release party.
The doors open at 5pm, and at this sure-to-be-packed event you can taste not only the most recent release, but those of years past. There will also be a rep from Goose Island to talk about the brewery’s releases. Flights of BCBS will be available for $18. Individual Bourbon County Brand beers, and 4oz samples of Lolita, can be had for $4, and all other 4oz samples will be $3. Want a whole pint of the legendary brew? That’ll be $12.
