Oscars Night Luxury at Luxbar

City locals celebrated Hollywood’s biggest night at one of Chicago’s most luxurious bars.  Luxbar, along with Michigan Avenue Magazine, rolled out the red carpet for their second annual Oscars Red Carpet Party to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International… where over $10,000 was raised.

This event was hosted by Ginger Zee and Marcus Riley of NBC Chicago and music was provided by White Label DJs.

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards were viewed on Luxbar’s 17 HDTVs placed generously around the venue.  There was a variety of beer, wine and champagne to indulge in.  Mouth watering appetizers such as macaroni and cheese, turkey sliders and tomato and mozzarella were passed around on silver platters.  You could even get your own box of fresh popcorn from a popcorn machine and eat deliciously decorated cupcakes provided by Crumbs Bake Shop.  Plus, the staff at Luxbar was very courteous making this an extremely enjoyable night.

There was an extensive silent auction that included overnight stays, spa treatments, sports tickets and more.  Guests could also place their bid on the official Oscars ballot and random prizes were given away throughout the evening.  They even had a friendly best dressed competition where the famous question was asked,“Who are you wearing?”

Luxbar is located in the Gold Coast neighborhood – so it was the perfect place to watch film industry professionals winning the acclaimed golden statues.

Sponsors of the Red Carpet Party were Crumbs Bake Shop, Fletcher Jones Chicago, Gibsons Restaurant Group, Michigan Avenue Magazine, Moet Hennessey and Stella Artois.
