Pisco Sour Celebration at Tanta in February

A Pisco Sour is a delicious cocktail made with the Peruvian brandy that’s so tasty it has its own holiday. The first Saturday in February is dedicated to this drink that will have you ready to plan a trip to South America. Typically made with pisco, bitters, lime juice, egg white and simple syrup, it’s a refreshing aperitif, made even better when you enjoy one at Tanta.

Tanta, 118 W Grand Ave, Chicago’s premiere Peruvian restaurant, is featuring the Pisco Sour all month long. They’ve created a special menu with three drinks in addition to their classic:

  • Classic Pisco Sour with Barsol pisco, egg white, lime, sugar, and Amargo Chuncho bitters
  • Chicha Pisco Sour with chicha morada, Barsol pisco, egg white, lime, sugar, and Amargo Chuncho bitters
  • Rocoto Pisco Sour with rocoto chili paste, Barsol Pisco, egg white, lime, sugar, and Amargo Chuncho bitters
  • Maracuya Pisco Sour with passion fruit puree, Barsol Pisco, egg white, lime, sugar, and Amargo Chuncho bitters

The classic is normally $12, but in Feburary you can try any of the above for $10. If you like a kick be sure to try the Rocoto. This is a Peruvian pepper that has been cultivated for thousands of years, and it is spicy.

These are available all month long, but if you come in on February 7 for brunch (highly recommended) you can also get select wines and brunch cocktails at half price.
